• Hi All
My site that was built for us for me to edit/update as necessary.

I am wanting to add some PDF newsletters to it and searching has suggested

    – Using “Insert into post” from the media library
    – Add a plugin
    – Add a block using “Add file”

I can’t find the Insert into post option, I don’t really want to add a plugin in case it has an unexpected effect on the website and I can’t see the Add file block.

Has anyone got any suggestions? Do you think that these options have been locked down by the web developer? I’m all for preventing accidental trashing of the site (hence not really wanting to add a plugin without speaking to the developer), but is there a way of customising the available blocks in the block editor?

    Thanks

    David

Upload the PDF files to the media library. There you will receive a URL for each file. In a page where you want to link the PDF files, you then insert a text per file (e.g. “Newsletter 03/22”) and create a link to the URL of the corresponding PDF file.

For this, basically no plugin is necessary. This is possible with WordPress’ own means.

Note that the way you create the link on the text may differ depending on which PageBuilder you use. If you use Gutenberg (which would be WordPress standard) you can have a look at the procedure here: https://wpshout.com/quick-guides/gutenberg-editor-add-a-link/
