Adding border on non-cropped thumbnail sizes

Hello,
I’m using the “Fit crop to thumbnail by adding border” to add side border to all the thumbnail sizes with crop=true, and this is very useful.

A function I’m missing is having the possibility to manually add a border for the thumbnails that have crop=false.

Is it possible somehow to do it in the current version of the plugin?
