Looking for a simple way to add CAPTCHA to all my forms, preferably without having to add code to very form.

IE wherever there are instances of forms, CAPTCHA is automatically added

Any specific forms in mind? Comment forms, contact forms, registration forms, etc? Or just all forms in general?

    Forms in general.

I suppose an plugin which finds all forms on the project and invokes security apparatus easily [or I invoke it].

I have found several plugins to do this, but need to see if the basic installation of WP deals with this?

No, CAPTCHA support is not a part of the core WP functionality, so you’ll have to use a plugin.
