@learner2017 – Each inserted display type can use its own specific (custom) template that could allow you to display images differently for the same layout (such as some with captions and some without) although if you are referencing the Lightbox Effect and it sowing captions or not, that is not possible to set per gallery as it is a “global” option for the plugin.

Hi. Since I’m using a basic NextGen slideshow gallery I don’t know if I’m using any Lightbox effect. I don’t see any. I’m not showing thumbnails. And I don’t have to screentouch or mouseclick to make the pictures get a bigger size. It says I’m applying Thickbox effect. Does that prevent me from using a different layout for each gallery? Thanks again.

@learner2017 – The Basic Slideshow does not have captions available, you would need to use something like the Basic Thumbnails (and its captions template) or the Basic ImageBrowser display types. The Lightbox Effect is used for all displays, there is no options to use a different Lightbox for different displays.
