Adding Custom Fields to Bookmarks/Links?
-
Hi there – my non-profit is hoping to use the Links/Bookmarks/Blogroll functionality of WordPress to create a “news tracker” on our website, which would be a depository of external links to news articles on a range of topics. There seems to be plenty of flexibility for sorting external links by category, formatting the output, etc.
The only difficulty I’ve run into is the inability to add any additional fields to a link beyond those built-in: Name, Web Address, Description, Categories, the Advanced fields, etc. I was hoping minimally to add fields listing the authors and source (newspaper, TV station, etc) of the article being linked to.
Is there support anywhere or a plugin for adding custom fields to bookmarks/links like there is for posts?
If not I can probably get by cramming this information into the description field, but I would greatly prefer to have separate fields so we can put that info on a separate line, format it differently, etc.
Thanks for any feedback.
