Adding Custom Post Types with Metaboxes using PHP in theme

    Hi there,
    I already read a lot about custom post types, metaboxes and such, but I’m still not sure so:

    When I install my WordPress theme, I want it automatically add several Custom Post Types with various fields AND metaboxes to edit them. So, there will be php involved.

    What is the best way to implement this and if you have any links to decent tutorials, can you please provide them here?
