Adding hyperlink to the images

How can i add hyperlinks to the images.Here is my problem i have found two tags
{productaffiliatebuylink[1]} – buy link(hyberlink)
{productthumbnail[1]} – product thumbnail

i have tried the following tag

<img class=”alignnone” src=”{productthumbnail[1]}” width=”178″ height=”78″ />
but it won’t worked .
Any help will be appreciated.
