adding image left to the article

Hi friends,
i would like to insert an image as a constant element (without overwriting the text) to the left to every article pages;

i’ve tryed to insert it on “page.php” but the image is always at the end of the text or at the beginning, never at the same height of the text;

could anyone suggest me the way?
