Adding link to additional fields

Wonderful plugin and extensive documentation. I have added date from my events following the instructions https://displayposts.com/2019/06/23/display-meta-value-in-output/ and I also added some extra text following https://displayposts.com/2019/10/09/add-extra-text-after-title/ . Now my question is how do I make this text link to the post?
I see a document on how to remove links but no add them – and I can’t figure out how to ‘reverse engineer’ that method to add a link.
I have the title hidden and currently only the image has a link (which I have placed behind the text) so it is making it difficult to link to the post.
I hope someone has some ideas!
