Adding logo and text box to header

Hi!

Im working on this website: http://www.holten-motorsport.no/wp
Want to customize the theme but struggle with the coding.
Can someone explain or help me finding the right way to put a logo .jpg in the header, and also i want a textbox to the left (instead of the contact info). The plan is to have a text box that only display a small text from a chosen category, showing info about where the next race goes.
