Adding my own buttons

If your asking if you can write a plugin that will extend Just Writing, no, there’s no hooks in Just Writing for other plugins.

However, Just Writing uses, in general, the standard WordPress hooks for modifying the toolbar, you could make a plugin that loaded after Just Writing and inserted additional buttons.
