I am just starting to learn wordpress coming from drupal and I have a question about the admin interface. When i create a Page I can choose what parent item in the navigation menu it should belong to. Why is it then that I after creating a page have to go to the menu page of the admin interface and manually add it AGAIN in order for it to appear? I don’t understand the redundancy here, am I doing something wrong or is it something I do not understand?
Why I am wondering about this is because my clients will not understand this complicated two step process…
When you add a page as a child page you are simply creating a page hierarchy. It is not tied into menus at all. This allows users to customize their menus however they wish. It is an opt-in menu system.
