• Hi,
I created my website using WordPress and created a forum using buddypress.
I got a security seal from verisign and I want to add that seal to my forum page (http://gestuality.com/forums/) I want to add the seal to the bottom of the page like I have added it on the home page (http://gestuality.com/) and not below the description part (the current position). I also want a small seal just below the log in button. Can anyone please tell me which file to modify to make this happen? I am unable to find any information on the internet.

    Thanks,
    Shripad

  • You probably need to create a custom page template that contains your seal markup and then apply that page template to your forum page.

Thanks for the quick reply, can you please tell me how to apply the page template to my forums page?

Once the new page template is in place, you will see a Page Template dropdown on each Edit Page that you can use to apply the template to that static page.

But I am trying to edit a forum (http://gestuality.com/forums/) not a page. There is no page called forums.

You have a WordPress site that you are using to run your bbPress forum, yes. The page at http://gestuality.com/forums/ needs its own page template

So what you are saying is that I create a page template and add it to the appropriate folder. Then, I create a page (forums) using the dashboard and add the template I created to this page. Is that correct? But if I do that, will I not lose all the posts and data I have on the forum?

All of your forum’s content is stored in your database.

Ok, I will try doing this.
    Thanks!

This looks like a complicated solution. All I want to do is add an image beside the login button of this page (http://gestuality.com/forums/) without major modifications. If you can tell me which file to modify to get my job done, I can just do that without having to change too many things. If I get the location of the login button, i can explore a little bit to find out where to place my html code.

    Thanks,
    Shripad
