Hi, you can add captions to the slides using a custom slideshow template. There is a pre-built captions slideshow skin that you can drop into your theme to activate these captions.

    Hi,
Where do I find the pre-built captions slideshow skin?

I have copied the file meteor-slideshow.php into my theme’s directory, which I assume is where my current one, fourteen, is. Now, do I delete the fourteen or leave it there? Now what?

No, don’t delete your theme, just add these files to your theme.

My cPanel and WordPress will not upload the whole file all at once. Do I upload the three files one by one within /wp-content/themes/twentyfourteen/page-templates/ or /wp-content/plugins/. If neither, under where do I upload?

The slideshow skin files need to go in the current theme’s folder, so in this case “/wp-content/themes/twentyfourteen/”. If you have to use cPanel you can upload the files one at a time, but I would recommend using an FTP client to upload the files.

I wouldn’t recommend editing a default theme like Twenty Fourteen though, when you update the theme you will lose your changes. You should either make a child theme for Twenty Fourteen, or fork the the Twenty Fourteen theme, by copying the theme, giving it a new folder name, and renaming the theme in the stylesheet.
