Adding Topics for Posts support to Custom Post Types

I’ve previously had Topics For Posts working for custom posts types but it seems the latest update has changed how the eligible post types are defined and only having a basic knowledge of PHP I haven’t been able to figure out how to make it work again.

Does anyone have a code snippet that can add my Custom Post types to the list of eligible post types?
I tried this one from @stagger-lee but it doesn’t seem to work anymore either.
