• When I add a user to the front-end, and then login with the details in the email (tried with both username AND email address), it just doesn’t log in – throws an error instead.

The new user does show up in the normal admin back-end though. Can’t figure out what the issue is.

EDIT: I should mention I’m using it with WooCommerce, and the users are being added to the default ‘Customer’ role.

Can you please tell me what was the error?

Strangely the error message is blank. It just shows the error bar and exclamation icon, and that’s it. No text appears.

You might be using any security plugin that is causing the error message to be blank.

Please deactivate all your plugins except WooCommerce and WP User Frontend and check for plugin conflicts.

You’re right, it was iThemes Security plugin which was blanking out the error message.

    The error is:

ERROR: The password you entered for the username testuser is incorrect. Lost your password?

So is your problem solved now?

No, I still have the issue.

It still does not recognise the user’s login details.

If you are suspecting that WP User Frontend is causing you the issue, then please deactivate that and check with the default system. I mean,

    1. Register an user with WP User Frontend registration form.
    2. Deactivate WP User Frontend.
    3. Try logging with the user credentials you used with WP User Frontend registration form.

Please test the above and let me know 🙂

    Thanks for the reply.

I tested the above, and it still throws an error (the password is incorrect) when I try to log in with the credentials. WP User Frontend generates a password which is emailed to user – it’s a fantastic feature BUT I find the password doesn’t work.

If I manually add a user via the backend, it usually asks me to enter a password and these credentials work just fine. So I think there’s an issue with the WPUF password generator.
