Hi – Thanks for the great plugin that has really solved the problem of how to allow users to register, login and manage their profile.

Can I ask if there is a way I can have admin manually approve new users and also if there’s a way of preventing spam (or at least minimising) registrations via the register.php page?

since bbpress just uses WordPress registration, this will do what you want

Hi Robin,

Many thanks for that information. While I have you can I also pick your brains on a couple of other aspects. My client, a charity, would like to know a little about the people who register BEFORE approving them. Is there a way to incorporate a profile / a bit about you field in the initial registration?

And also, any way of fighting spam registrations?

Your client might be a charity, but you are close to the limit of making me one 🙂

bbpress just uses WordPress registration, and there are plenty of worpdress plugins free and paid out there to do this stuff, and plenty of code solutions
