Adding Widget to Big Title Section?

    I’m using Responsive Boat as a child theme. I want to know what I need to add in big_title.php to add the text widget so I can have a quote of the day type deal. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Ive Tried
    the_widget( 'WP_Widget_Text' );
    with no luck, and don’t understand how
    Get_search_form(); does
