Additional Blog 404 Install error

Hello – I could use some help.

I am running a WP blog on my own domain (http://www.camamongolia.org). I want to add another separate site that would look like this: http://www.camamongolia.org/newsite.

I uploaded WP that is now under the the directory “newsite”, added a new data base – i.e., followed the documentation for “installing multiple blogs”. (I changed the wp-config file, double checked the database information, etc.)

However, when I try to run http://www.camamongolia.org/newsite/wp-admin/install.php I get a 404 error page from my original site.

What am I missing here?

Some help would be greatly appreciated. I have been running WP for a couple of years now … and thought I knew what I was doing.

One other thing (this thought just occurred to me), my original site is WP 2.2.1, and I am installing 2.3.1 for the additional blog. Would that be an issue?
