And in addition to the question above, another question, is the ‘”Geplaatse cookies” on /cookiebeleid-eu/ updated automatically? Or do I need to update it manually? I wiped my cache before starting the Wizard, but the list of cookies now seems incomplete. But no problem if the plugin updates the list regularly.
Kind regards, Sander
Hi @bufsan,
If you want to fire tags in your Tag Manager container based on consent, there is some configuration needed in GTM itself.
Your Complianz settings indicate that you use GA4 ‘anonymized’ and it is therefore loaded directly, but you may want to fire the “Google Ads (AW)” tag on Marketing consent.
Please refer to 3. (Step-by-step) in this article: https://complianz.io/definitive-guide-to-tag-manager-and-complianz/
This will allow you to trigger the “Google Ads (AW)” tag on one of the Complianz triggers, such as “Marketing Consent”, so that this tag only loads after the visitor consents to “Marketing”.
With regards to the Cookie List, if you’ve implemented a new tool on the site and additional cookies are set; we recommend running another Cookie Scan & Sync with CookieDatabase (Wizard -> Consent) to add them to the Cookie Policy right away.

Hi Jarno,
The steps you mention, are they optional or obliged?
Furthermore, how can I check if my GA4 data is anonymized? I don’t recall setting that up.
I own a very simple business, only using Ads, GA4 and Tag Manager on a very limited scale. Would it be possible to hire Complianz to set-up my plugin, GA4 and Tag manager/Ads to be completely AVG-bulletproof? If yes, could you please reach out to me on the site mentioned above?
Kind regards, Sander
Hi @bufsan,
If the tool that you’re firing with Tag Manager requires consent, which I’d say would apply in the case of Google Ads: you should indeed only fire such tags after consent is obtained, such as with the above steps.
Please see this article for detailed instructions regarding the ‘anonymized’ GA4 settings: https://complianz.io/configure-google-analytics-4-for-gdpr/
While we don’t offer a configuration service, feel free to send us a message if you have any further questions about the set-up.
Kind regards, Jarno

Hi Jarno,
Aren’t GA4’s IP addresses anonymized by default?
Hi @bufsan,
Anonymization is the default in GA4. Or rather, as per Google: “In Google Analytics 4, IP masking is not necessary since IP addresses are not logged or stored.”

hi @jarnovos,
Sorry for the late reply.
Earlier you refered to 3. (Step-by-step) in this article: https://complianz.io/definitive-guide-to-tag-manager-and-complianz/.
So I should replace the trigger ”All pages” on my Google Ads tag, with ”Trigger Marketing” (Custom event) I imported from you?
What still is unclear to me, on which tags should I do this? How about the Conversion Linker tag? Or the Google ads conversion tracking tag?
Is there any way you can check my site (see first message) and advise me what actions to take (I only use 5 tags in tag manager)? I am willing to implement it correct, but still have a lot of doubts.
Kind regards, Sander
