The admin access restriction wont activate with an empty key, so you may have submitted something accidentally.

I have been able to deactivate the plugin and done the necessary settings on the wordpress site. unfortunately, reactivating the plugin still requires the admin restriction key or password which i can’t still remember. is there anyway i can delete the settings using php my admin. i have been trying to find the option name simpl security firewall but there’s nothing like that on phpmyadmin options. what is the option name and how do i turn the admin key option off or change the admin key password.

Once you’ve used this function to turn off the firewall, and it’s not running, you can reset the access key by entering a new one and saving the firewall settings.

There’s no way to enter a new one. There’s only space requiring you to enter the old password. Which tells you that your password is wrong. It begins with ” at some point you entered an admin restriction key, you will need to enter that here before you can use this plugin …”

did you follow the instruction for disabling the firewall using the forceoff file here?

I tried that but unfortunately there was no way I could create a file with no extension. i even tried using an htaccess file that I downloaded using ftp and renamed to forceoff but it atomatically turns to a .txt file. if you can show me how to create a file with no extension? thanks.

You can use FileZilla and directly on the FTP space you can create a file of any name..
