Hi David,
Okay, perhaps I’ve introduced an error in the latest release. Let me check that for you, and thanks for reporting it.

Hi David,
Okay, I know what’s happening here… it’s not actually a problem with the Admin Access system, but I’ll look at addressing it anyway.
If you enable the Admin Access system, you must put in an access key at the same time you. If you leave it empty, it will not enable the system for you.
The problem that you’re experiencing is a timing condition with setting the value, saving it, displaying the page. Not worth going into the details, but basically, the solution here is to ensure that you set the key at the time of enabling it.
Hope that helps, and thanks for reporting it.
Hi Paul,
That’s what I have been doing, checking the Enforce Admin Access Restriction box, setting the Access Key then hitting submit, probably 5 seconds max. The instruction to not leave the Access Key empty is clear on the Admin Access page, so I didn’t!
Cheers,
David.

Yep, I’m still looking at this as I can now easily replicate the issue… trying to work out what’s going wrong. I should have an answer shortly…

Okay, I found the problem 🙂 In the latest release there is low-level block on updating the plugin options when you’ve got admin access enabled… but it turns out this block is blocking the enabling of admin access. 🙂 I’ll figure out a proper way to get this to work shortly…

Okay, version 2.6.5 should address this issue. Let me know how you get on once you’ve upgraded (you may have to wait 10 minutes before ww.wp.xz.cn will let you upgrade)
Great, I can confirm that v2.6.5 works as expected for me. Thanks Paul.
Cheers,
David.

Great, happy to hear it’s all fixed for you.
After you use the plugin for a bit, would you mind leaving a nice little review for us? 🙂
Cheers,
Paul.
