I’d guess about 50% of the time when I click some admin action, I get a 404 page. I refresh the page and get a message that data will be re-sent to the server. I say OK, and most of the time the relevant admin page will then appear with a confirmation that the action has been taken. Sometimes it takes more than one refresh to get the job done.

Another problem which may be related to the above is I sometimes have trouble getting a whole page of posts listed in the Edit Posts page. Usually a refresh will take care of the problem, but I have one site today that is refusing to display more than one post, no matter which option or filter at the top I use.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

    increasing the available memory?
