Hi, I was using this plugin since it gives relevant information, and with a 5 star rating I didn’t imagine once that this “performance driven” plugin was exactly causing an issue related to this subject.

In fact you were responsible for a weeks long nightmare that I didn’t fix month ago. And suddenly I found it now while pushing that website back to live!

Yes, this plugin is calling so many times the admin-ajax.php that it overloads instantly the server after a few days with just a few admin tabs open at the same time.
And the worst thing is that using the Heartbeat control plugin didn’t change anything.

So what’s the point now? Did I miss something to reduce its CPU usage by any way (like wp-config?) or should you maybe have another approach to fit the WP standards, or even giving manual options to be distinct from the Heartbeat control plugin ?

I hope you’ll offer a more reliable way of using this plugin than being only able to shortly activate the plugin on specific tasks.

    Hi @tdechangy,
I can completely relate to your problem. In fact, for low quality shared servers this is really an issue. That is why if you go to the settings of WP Server Stats, you can clearly see the first option naming: Set the real-time script refresh interval (in ms) [1sec = 1000ms] and the default value is set to 200 i.e. 200 ms. Now for cases like yours, you can always increase it to as long as you want, for example, 2000 for 2 sec, 20000 for 20sec or maybe 200000 for 200 sec i.e. 3 min 33 sec.
    Hope this helps.

Ok, I didn’t remember there was a settings panel for this plugin. this will change the way I’ll use it.
It’s nice to to have custom colors :-).

But please!, ADD to the plugin description & installation process to adjust those values according to the server capabilities. It will save tons of time for users that don’t know which plugin is causing so many calls.

By the way this could also increase your plugin’s success.

    Thx.

Hi, it’s hard to tell users to change the value in settings without knowing what type of server they are in or what kind of resource is available to them. But I’m glad to know it solved your issue.

I guess you didn’t get the point exactly.
What I suggest is to add a notice to alert users to check their server compatibility to adjust their plugin settings, avoiding by the way the kind of server overload for which I had to find the culprit. Which took me a while! as a WP beginner.

Thanks to do it for others.

OK. I get it. will add a please note section in the description section of the plugin.

@tdechangy Just now released a new version and as you said earlier, I’ve mentioned about the interval thing in the plugin description. Enjoy 🙂
