Hi, we currently have “Do not send this Notification to the User that triggered it” ticked, but the user “admin” still receives the email that they’ve updated the post, even though they ARE the user that triggered it. Can this be tested at all?

Also I’d like to include the name / username of the editor who updates the post, is there a shortcode for that? I tried [post_update_author] but it was empty.

    Hi @jasonhubbard88,
    Thanks for your message.

How is the post being published/updated? Is it via the WP Admin, or via a front-end form?

Are you able to test with another user other than the admin to see if it works as expected?

Hi, it’s from the back-end. I’ve just tested adding myself as a second recipient. Having added an email log plugin to the dashboard, and tested saving posts a few times the majority correctly do not send to the admin that saved the page, but there’s odd occasions where it incorrectly sends to both the admin who did and did not make the update. It’s not post related either because saving the same post again doesn’t continually repeat that bug.

    Hi @jasonhubbard88,
    Thanks for testing.

This doesn’t sound like something that could be caused by BNFW. If it were a bug where it sends to a specific user, I’d expect to see it consistently doing it where in your case, it’s not.

In order to troubleshoot further, please can you make your way through this document and let me know how you get on?

OK thanks we’ll do this. Is it possible to just send a notification if the save has only been generated from a front-end ACF form? Happy to trial the paid version if it would allow this.

    Hi @jasonhubbard88,
Thanks. Let me know how you get on.

I’m not sure if this will be possible as is but with the Custom Fields add-on, you may be able to include a custom field value in your notification so you know if the post was published via the front or back-end.
