    Hello all,
    I have been searching but am unable to find what I am actually looking for. What I need is a way to assign certain menu items to certain roles. What I mean is the “Admin Bar” or “Tool Bar”, not sure what it is called now 🙂 but it contains the options such as, “pages”, “Posts”, “Settings”, and various other settings or admin controls. I know that depending on what role you assign i.e. admin, subscriber, editor, etc all have different menu options but is there a way to go further? For instance I want to give access to only the “Picture” page for a person I will be allowing to upload pictures and create slide shows etc. I don’t know if I am even explaining this correctly, but all I can seem to find is how to edit or modify the new “admin bar” across the top that is viewable from the front and back end.

    You’ll probably have better luck searching for “Admin Menu”: as you’ve discovered, the Toolbar (formerly the Admin Bar) is the top thing.

    The Admin Menu Editor does a good job of letting you specify what menu items are shown depending on your users’ roles and capabilities (or not showing them at all, for that matter!) As far as I can tell, you’d need the pro version to limit it to specific users, or you could combine the free version with creating a new custom role for your photo-enabled users.

    In addition to what Amy said, if that plugin allows for custom role specification, take a look at the Members plugin, it will let you create new roles. Could work well in combination with Admin Menu Editor

    @amy, Thanks for your help, I used that plugin, but it didn’t do what I wanted it to do, but I found Advanced Access Manager works perfectly for what I need so far. Troy, Thanks for your help as well, I am already using members plugin. Awesome plugin there as well! Thanks a bunch you two.
