admin field “image” type not working. Please help!

I have an admin fields group setup and it works great and all data displays properly on front end product page. I just setup a new field within that admin field group which is an image field, but I am running into two big issues with this:

1. If I edit a product that corresponds with this group, I see the field, it lets me select the image for that field and save, but it never displays it on product page.

2. If I edit the same product that I already selected the image for that field, but dont modify that field image at all (i.e. just made a small change to other data) after saving my changes that field data is gone! No more image selected.

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated. I love the plugin, it does everything needed other than this (and would be willing to pay for it if you do an official release), but I have done so much work using it so far with this client site that its almost impossible to switch to another now and I have to be able to have that field work properly.
