    Hello,

I must provide administrator priviledges to plugin developers for troubleshooting purposes.

I want to assign them administrator priviledges without automatically giving them key_master priviledges.

Whenever I assign the administrator role to a user, they automatically also get assigned the key_master role. Is this normal? Is this something I can fix?

I even created a new role “troubleshooter” to see if this would fix the issue, but it doesn’t. When the “troubleshooter” role is assigned, the user is still assigned the key_master role.

Best Regards, Dianne Blake, Known Universe

Additional Information: I am using BuddyBoss (a buddypress interface). I don’t know if this makes a difference, but wanted to ensure you had full information.

I also allow users to have multiple roles, for example they can be a Member and an Author.

    Hello,

I’m marking this topic resolved because I found my answer. Apparently, the key_master role is buddypress assigned and it allows control over forums.

So, my troubleshooters do need the key_master role assigned to them. I thought it would be good to provide the answer to my question here.

If for some reason I have misunderstood the answer to my own question, please do not hesitate to chime in.

    Best Regards, Dianne
