    Hello,
I have a question I haven’t been able to resolve. A plugin support person needs write access to certain plugin files on my server.
I contacted my host and modified the write rules accordingly, allowing the person to modify the files they want to edit, and this from the WordPress back office using your plugin. But for some reason, I can do it, but not the support technician, even though they have an Administrator login (via a temporary login plugin).

Do you know why? Is there anything else I can do besides granting Administrator access?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello,

The issue you’re facing is likely due to security measures we’ve implemented in WP File Manager. A temporary Administrator account created via a plugin may not have full capabilities like a manually created Administrator account. For security reasons, our plugin may restrict access for such users.

Since you have already modified the read-write permissions, you should be able to resolve this by creating a new Administrator account manually instead of using a plugin. This will ensure the necessary permissions are granted properly.

Let us know if you need any further assistance!

Thank you, but there’s one strange thing. I talked to my web host about this problem, and they tested it (to see if the issue was related to write permissions or server access), and the host’s support team did indeed have write permissions via the same temporary connection plugin. In other words, under the same conditions (apparently…), the host’s support team had access to everything and could modify it, while the other team (for the other plugin) didn’t.
That said, I’m going to opt for creating an Admin account manually and checking with them. Thanks!
