    Hi,

When I login as an administrator to the site, it automatically changes the user to being a subscriber. I have recently moved the site to a new server

I checked the log files and found that I am getting a 403 error. I checked all the file permissions and owner / group. They are all correct.

I changed the name of the plugin directory and theme directory. Doesn’t seem to matter.

I have uploaded a fresh version of wordpress, deleted all the plugins, didn’t matter.

I have gone through the database and found all the entries for my ip address and deleted them as well.

In the uploads directory I found a directory that had to with the better wp security and deleted that…

Please offer any kind of assistance. I still have access to the plugins via plesk, ftp, and database.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I think I’m having the same or similar issue. However, when I queried the user table I can see I still have ADMIN access, but I can’t access the dashboard as if I were just a subscriber.

    Hi Coffeehero,

I found a solution to my problem and it started with this post. This post didn’t work for me but gave me enough clues to fix the site.

The big difference was that I moved the site from a different host. The difference that made my site work is that I had to use the exact same prefix for the tables as the original site. I believe that there are entries in either the database that reference the prefix or when the site is built the prefix is loaded into the scripts.
