• So, I manage www.encorepub.com which is run through WordPress. I have a login issue in which I can not directly login to my admin section. What I have to do is go to my admin login page and attempt to login. It loads forever and never takes me to my admin section. THEN I have to close out of that window, go to www.encorepub.com and THEN it shows my admin bar at the top of the page. I can then click edit page which will take me to my admin section where I can edit the website. WHAT is going on???!!!

Once you’re in the admin section, what prevents you from going to the Pages section to edit a page?

I have no issues once I am in the admin section, the issue is the fact that I can’t directly login, but have to attempt to then close the window, open a new one, go to the site the the admin bar shows on the page and I can then get into the admin section. I should be able to just directly login.

Oh, sorry, I completely missed the word “never.” Have you tried this with all of your browser’s extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled?

If that doesn’t work, please let us know which browser (and version of) you’re using.

if I disable is this reversible?

They’re just your browser extensions, nothing in WordPress. It’s totally reversible.

I am using Google Chrome, but it won’t work in Safari either. Not sure what versions. I did try blocking all plug-ins through content settings under privacy, but it still did not work.

Try logging in with an Incognito window in Chrome.

If that still doesn’t work, then it’s definitely not the browser.

In WordPress, try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fourteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
