Admin Login Not working- endless loop. pls help

Pls help- Went to site/wp-admin.php to login. I enter user/ password and get error msg. I check box “forget password” to reset.

I’m sent an email to reset. I click on link in email to reset but brought right back to admin page w/ error msg that username/ password is incorrect. I don’t get a new password in the email as the message says.

Pls help. been trying to access for past few hrs to add post for my list to notify them of upcoming changes.
