    Hi @bennettscience, the only way is by hiding the admin bar, but this does not apply to admin users, only for others. This is intended in that way.

    The way I would do it in your case is that, instead of modifying the plugin (to avoid to be overwritten when update), including the code as a new plugin. You can check how the bar is hidden in the plugin, and you only need to generalise the case.
