    Hi,

    I would like to allow another role apart from administrators to have access to the user editor role plugin (have both standard and pro). I appreciate this will allow for this role to have full access to the system but it is required and the role is limited to a small number.

    I assume the above is the only solution as the problem I have is that I would roles to be allowed to change other users secondary role. For example

    Staff member –> Can a default secondary role of a customer to elite customer.

    In turn allowing them more permissions, however I do not want to give staff members admin as I wish to maintain it myself and present staff members with a reduced backend interface but with the power to change secondary roles.

    Hopefully this makes sense

    Hi Sam,

    Starting from version 4.18 it is possible to give other than ‘administrator’ role access to the User Role Editor. Use ‘ure_%’ permissions for that.
    But currently it is not possible to give to the role permissions to change user’s capabilities and/or his secondary roles without giving access to the User Role Editor itself (ure_edit_roles). I plan to change this in a future version.
    It has sense to add special capabilities to allow change secondary roles and user capabilities separately too.

    Pro version 4.18 is in the beta-testing state currently. You may download it after login from https://www.role-editor.com/download-plugin/

    Hi Vladimir,

    I am running 4.18.b5 currently.

    Do I just add another Custom capability with the name of ‘ure_%’ ? As I cant see the permission on the system as default.

    Hi Sam,

    Custom URE’s capabilities were included to 4.18.b6. Download and install the latest version please. Deactivate prev. version 1st. In theory You should not append anything manually. All new caps will be added automatically after plugin activation.
