• I am new to all of this so please excuse the ignorance but everything was running fine and the site itself seems to be running fine. The issue is the admin panel, I can’t activate plugins, or deactivate them, delete them, create new pages things like that. In cPanel I deleted a plugin folder to get rid of it and it is still on the admin page. Browser cache has been deleted I just need a push in the right direction, please. I have 2 sites and have no issues with the first one.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Do you have a backup of the site from before the problem? If so, I’d restore from there. Also, if you have a sandbox copy you should make major changes there then move them over to live.

I’ll have to see about the backup, I was using Duplicator but I don’t see a way to restore it in the free version. Do I need the Duplicator plugin to restore? Unfortunately, I was using a staging site that comes with the Bluehost hosting and that is when the problems started. It would default to the staging site but access to that area would disappear.

So I went through the process to restore using Duplicator, I cleared out all contents of the root then I copied the installer php file and the zip file to the root. Ran the php from a browser and had a bunch of errors. So I thought that since I really don’t have a bunch of time in this that I would start over. Went into Cpanel and used the Softaculous app to uninstall the WordPress site then I did a new install. So can anyone tell me why I still see the same plugins from the old site in the admin panel? They are not in the root of my site in Cpanel? None of them function, when I select them they say Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page or the link you followed has expired.
