  • I recently had an issue when I updated adrotate. It was continuously requesting POST from admin-ajax.php which caused the server my site was hosted on to run at 100% CPU and everything became extremely slow.
    I wasn’t able to find a solution, all I did was rollback to an earlier version of adrotate where admin-ajax.php wasn’t used.

    Is this problem resolved?

    After updating to 3.13.4 adrotate plugin, had website (WP 3.8.3) bombed down with endless admin-ajax.php POST requests.

    action = adrotate_impression
    track = MjAyLDE4LDEsMTA= (random symbols)

    The same result in WP (4.3.1) localhost test page.

    So I had to revert back to adrotate 3.9.6
    No reply since.

    It started with adrotate 3.10.13 (impressiontracker.php) and then “upgraded” to admin-ajax.php DDOS “attacks”.

    I think that only impressions that actually counts are adverts visible in browser viewport.

    Don’t use dynamic groups if your host can’t cope with the requests (that’s where admin-ajax is active) or upgrade to better hosting.
    Thousands of people use the Dynamic feature without issues.
