I would try Adman, the plugin, it lets you ad code (such as ad code) in the beginning, the middle, or end of any post.
Easy and intuitive.

Heck no, that’d be silly.
You can use any of the (literally) kabillion plugins to put ads wherever you want.
-or-
You just edit your theme files and add the ad code exactly where you want it.
The only limitations are you and your skills or willingness to describe what you want to do and the theme you’re using.
For instance, to your original question: Why not just add the ad code to the theme’s sidebar file? You shouldn’t need a plugin to do that.

I hadn’t thought of adding the code in (blonde moment apparently). That is definitely a better plan.
I’m not sure I like the overall look of between the posts, so the sidebars is definitely where I’m aiming.
