Adsense sidebar code – where is it?
-
Hello,
I have taken over a job from a previous designer as he has fallen out with the company. He had placed Adsense adverts on the page that I am trying to replace. I’ve found the top banner code in the header.php, but i can’t seem to find where he has placed the code for the sidebar.
You can see the site here: http://www.farmandplantsales.co.uk
I’ve looked in the widget section of the WordPress dashboard, and also in quite a few areas of theme/themename/includes/. i.e. sidebar/sidebar.php.
Can anyone help me locate this code? Is there an easy way to find out what page has generated a particular section of code?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Maybe you just need a tool that searches all the files and returns the ones that match a code snippet of your advert
Quick Google searchIf you’re a developer you can usually tools within your IDE.
I had thought I may have to go down that route. I didn’t realise I can do it with Notepad++. I’ll give that a try this evening.
I’m not sure what you meant by “If you’re a developer you can usually tools within your IDE.” though.
Thanks for your help,
Graeme
IDE, the software that you develop your sites in, e.g. Netbeans, Sublime, Brackets, maybe even Notepad++.
Ah, I see. Thanks and apologies for my noob-ness! 🙂 I like the look of Sublime btw.
It’s a good looking IDE, but it’s a bit rubbish in 1 way that you have to download everything as plugins. E.g. if you wanted to be able to right click on the tree map of your files (that displays when you edit a file) you would have download a plugin to do that.
Ah ok. What IDE do you tend to use?
Brackets only because it’s cutting edge lol
