Adsense with WordPress

Hey all

I have researched the forum but not found a solution to my problem with Adsense on the main page. I would be grateful if someone could help me!

Why doesn’t my Adsense ad units appear on the main page when they appear just fine on single items, the about pages and archives? I have made the code on the index.php template exactly the same as the single.php template with no luck.

I have an ad unit on the side bar and an ad unit below an article. I have tried taking one or the other out with no luck.

I cannot use the Adsense Deluxe Plugin because I include the code in the templates (such as the side bar, for example).

Why does it not show when it is clear from the code (or source when you load it) that the ad units is less than 3? It should at least show the first 3 ad units? It does not even show public service ads or PSAs and only shows a gap where the ads should be.

Is there something wrong with WordPress that Adsense does not like? I cannot see how else when I can make the template for index.php and single.php exactly the same but only single.php works to show the ads.
