    Hello,

Thank you for this great work for Gutenberg. I have a problem with the accordion, it opens towards the top of the page, so that we are forced to scroll to reach the beginning of the text to be read… Too bad… Is there a solution for this inconvenience? …
    thank you so much

  • Hi,

    Thanks.
Do you have a page where it happens? Usually the page stays in the same position when you move the accordions elements.

    Good evening,
Sorry my site is not online, it is on wampserver, but I have screenshots for private messages if you wish.

If we have 5, for example. We come to the page.
My first accordion is set always open first.
I scroll a little down the page to read.
When I finish reading the text of accordion 1 (towards the middle of the screen) I click on accordion 2 which opens upwards and so on … All accordions opens towards top and cut the text or the image under the menu … forcing the reader to re-scroll to the bottom of the page to adjust it …

Now, if when I get to the page, I scroll to the bottom of the page without opening the accordions.
Arrived at the bottom of the page; I open the accordions …
They open towards the bottom of the page, which allows me to read the accordions without scrolling up and down to be able to read my text …

It seems to me that the opposite would be more judicious, that the accordions open down from the beginning of the page …

    thank you so much

    Hi,

I think that’s a conflict with something else, theme or plugin. It has a different behaviour from this one, right?

    Hello,

Thank you for your reply. the accordion is placed in the center in your Column Manager. I tried it similarly in Column of Gutemberg, it’s the same defect.

So I installed it in my page directly, it seemed to me to work well as on your page https://www.joomunited.com/advanced-gutenberg-demo/advanced-gutenberg-blocks-live/#advgb-toc-b6bf446e -7341-4e95-bfa6-d303a67b3bc8… with the head of each accordion which took up the whole width of the screen… even with a class center margin, but it seemed to me to work well.

I have a lot of text to write in the accordions and I realized that even if it seemed to work well with short texts, with long texts or large images … it was not good.

I have well examine your page… and it seems to me that your accordions open upside down… if you add a lot of text in each accordions, you will see that they open up and that each time , you will have to scroll up to read the following text from the start… Please try… Thank you.

    Hi,

I’m not sure, I run a test on a small height screen with long accordion text (see below); Do you see a behavior that you don’t want or you have something different?

    Hello,

Yes, that’s exactly what’s going on.
What happens is that when you open accordion B, accordion A closes, which automatically raises the whole up when there is a lot of text.

I’ve watched other radio button accordions, they do the same. In general, there is very little content length (2 or 3 sentences …) and we do not notice it.

Personally, I do not have sufficient technical knowledge to change this, it would be necessary that the page height remains at the same level on the screen while it is reduced at the top …!

Could you tell me if it is possible that I modify so that the accordions remain open once I have activated them, this would avoid this phenomenon for my long texts?

    Thank you so much.

Yes OK but that would be a different behavior we could add as an option in a future version. That’s noted!
