    Dear support,

I’m trying to connect my Instagram feed to the plugin via the Advanced connection but I get an error message:

    Oops!

We couldn’t find any Business Instagram accounts connected to your Facebook account!

This could happen if you didn’t give Spotlight the required permission in the previous step, or if Facebook’s services are encountering problems.

Kindly try to start the connection process again. If the problem persists, contact our support staff, who will be happy to help you out.

I was able to connect with the basic connection but the feed isn’t updating (it shows only my old posts, not my new ones). What might be wrong? I have an Facebook page, I gave all permissions and the plugin is updated.

    Best regards,
    Sandra

    Hi @sandraoest

Thanks for reaching out to us!

Due to recent changes on Meta (Instagram API), Spotlight is returning an error message “We couldn’t find any Business Instagram accounts connected to your Facebook account!“ when you’re trying to connect an Instagram Business account.

While we’re waiting for a fix from Meta, there is a workaround that you can use to solve this issue. You can find detailed instructions on implementing the workaround in our published documentation here.

Once you complete the steps outlined in the documentation, you shouldn’t need to repeat them. Adding your account to the “People with Facebook Access” section is a one-time setup that grants the necessary permissions for connecting your Instagram Business account to Spotlight.

Regarding the Basic connection, I checked your website and compared the Instagram feed with your actual Instagram account. It seems to be displaying all the most recent posts. Could you please confirm if you’re still experiencing issues displaying your latest Instagram posts?

    Hi (@hendcorp)

Thank you for your fast reply.

I was able to update the instagram feed by deleting my old profile and clearing the cache so for now the basic connection is sufficient for me until Meta fixes the issue for the advanced account.

    Best,
    Sandra

    Hi @sandraoest

Thank you for the update! I’m glad to hear that deleting the old profile and clearing the cache resolved the issue.

Feel free to reach out if you need any other assistance. We’re happy to help!

Hello, do you have any idea on the timeline to get the Advanced option working? Unfortunately, even the workaround doesnt work for me bc I cant find my personal account in FB search. I did the Basic connection like the OP, but would prefer Advanced if possible.

    Hi @zoonars

Thank you for reaching out to us! I understand that the workaround can be a bit tricky and may not be ideal. As mentioned in our documentation, Facebook doesn’t allow you to add your own profile, so you’ll need another account to assist with this process.

To use the “Advanced (Connect via Facebook)” option, you can either create a second Facebook profile specifically for this purpose or ask a trusted friend or family member to temporarily help set it up. Once it’s configured, you’ll regain full control.

I hope this helps clarify the process! Please let me know if you have any further questions or need additional assistance.
