Adverts Auto Draft

    Hi Greg,

    When creating test ad’s one saved as ‘Adverts Auto Draft’. I’m not sure what I did to trigger this and I noticed it didn’t feature in Ad listings until I’d republished it.

    Can you tell me how this happened and what the feature is used for?

    Hi,
    the Adverts Auto Draft(s) are created when a user goes to [adverts_add] form and either uploads an image or goes to a preview.

    You can think of it as a temporary posting, once the user finishes posting an Ad the “Adverts Auto Draft” will be turned into Advert. If the user will abandon the page with [adverts_add] then the temporary posting should be automatically deleted.

    If it is not being deleted then most likely there is some kind of JavaScript error on site which prevents the WPAdverts JavaScript code from executing when the user is leaving the page.

    There are also some cases when the Auto Draft is not deleted, in this case if the draft is created over a day ago then you can safely deleted as probably the user is not going to finish posting it.

    Thanks, that helps. I’ll recreate and see whether it’s simply linked to users abandoning the page or possible the JavaScript error you mention.
