Hi Alex,
Thanks for notifying me about this! I’ll move it up on my todo list.
To be clear, the feature you’re looking for is that when a link contains a certain phrase, e.g. /recommends/ or /out/ an ‘Affiliate Link’ (customizable label) event is registered in Google Analytics. Correct?
Well, it’s going to be in pure JavaScript in my case 🙂
Thanks for the follow-up!
Hey guys,
I’m working on the proof of concept for this feature, and since I’m not an affiliate marketeer myself, I’m hoping you can provide me with some input.
Right now, I have this: https://imgur.com/a/OvJ3SDz
I’m a bit confused as to which of this data has to be configurable:
– Obviously, the part of the URL has to be configurable, e.g. /out/ or /recommends/ or /affiliate/,
– Does it make sense to make the Event Category (‘affiliate link’ in this example) configurable? Or is it more sensible to group all clicks under this category?
– The Event Label is now set to be the clicked URL, does this make sense in your use case? And if not, should it be configurable?
Please go crazy with the amount of information you’re willing to provide 🙂 Examples, screenshots, etc. Everything is welcome! 😉
Thanks!
