Hi im also having issues on my site.
Not trying to steal this post, im just posting here because its relate to same issue.

Up until yesterday everything was working fine.
I just transferred my hosting to to siteground and this morning i had a notice on my WP dashboard about auto_prepend_file method.

I tried to use the auto settings to no avail.
then i tried to do it manually with PHP Variables Manager.
Well after that all hell broke loose.

My site was trowing a server 500 error.

To get my site back up i did the fallowing:

Looked in public_html for those 2 php.ini entries that has been added ( wordfence-waf.php ) and deleted them.
    Cleared cashed

tried to load admin dashboard = failed with internal server error for Wordfence
Back to server and disabled wordfence plugin
tried to load admin dashboard = failed with internal server error for Yoast
Back to server and disabled Yoast plugin

I can successfully log in to my admin dashboard and site runs ok

I really would like to be able to run these 2 plugins on my site

    Any help would be appreciated

So tried to reinstal Wordfence and i got this on my admin panel:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

    500 – Internal Server Error
This is a temporary server error.
Please try to reload the webpage later.

If you are the webmaster of this site please log in to Cpanel and check the Error Logs. You will find the exact reason for this error there.

Common reasons for this error are:

    Incorrect file/directory permissions: Above 755.

In order files to be processed by the webserver, their permissions have to be equal or below 755. You can update file permissions with a FTP client or through cPanel’s File Manager.
Incorrect Apache directives inside .htaccess file.

Ivan Atanasov from SiteGround here. I am posting this reply to offer you our assistance as well.

Please post a support ticket from your User Area -> Support. Also, please share the ticket ID in this discussion so that I can follow it up.

    Hi @ptconnections
I’m sure @ivanatanasov investigations would be helpful in this case, but I think it might be a wrong path you entered for wordfence-waf.php file while following the firewall setup process for SiteGround.

Also, sharing the latest lines from the server error log at the same time while getting this “500 – Internal Server Error” should help in checking this issue.

    Thanks.

P.S. Thanks @ivanatanasov for helping out in this thread.
