Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.
Thank you for your suggestions! No, I haven’t tried any of those things.
I doubt that it would be a problem with the theme because I’m using the same theme I was using on free wordpress.
I will have to try deactivating the plugins later in the evening or at a time when there isn’t much traffic on my blog because deactivating the plugins will make some of the recipes disappear. Also, changing the theme would really be a shock to my visitors.
When you say a “fresh” download of WordPress, do you mean I should reinstall wordpress, or re-upload the xml file I exported from my old blog?
Neither. I meant that you need to download another copy of WordPress and re-upload the core files and folders – except the wp-content folder.
I didn’t install it that way … I used the one-click install on Bluehost. So I downloaded a copy of WordPress and I have a question … if I upload these files, will it screw up the theme or plugins that I have set up?
I tried disabling/re-enabling the plugins. That didn’t work. I tried re-uploading the core wordpress files. That didn’t work either.
I really don’t want to mess with the theme. It is the exact same theme I was using on free wordpress. Any other suggestions?
