Afterpay payment authorization failed

    Hi there,

    I have been using WooCommerce and Stripe for some time now, all without any issues.
    The last few week I started using Payment Plugins for Stripe WooCommerce for buy now pay later function. However, yesterday, order making using Afterpay is failed with this notification: “payment authorization failed” and the status of the order on Woocommerce is “Pending payment”.

    My store currency is USD, and the location of the customner is Australia. My other customer said that when he used Afterpay function, the web redirect him to afterpay USA, and he cannot finish because his phone number is of Australia, too

    I have asked WooCommerce to take a look at this but they refer me to you as the payment provider. What could be the cause of this? Is there any resolution for these issues (1 issue is about the authorization, and the second issue is about the country outside of us using afterpay)

    Afterpay is only eligible when the store currency matches the currency of your Stripe account’s country of registration.

    If you’re Stripe account is registered in the US for example, then that’s why your customer is being redirected to the Afterpay US payment page.

    The authorization error is coming directly from Afterpay’s payment page and isn’t something the Stripe plugin can control or resolve. It’s an issue with the Afterpay <> Stripe connection that they will need to resolve internally. I’d recommend you reach out to the Stripe support team.

    Thank you for your response.

    My store currency is USD, and Austrialia card can also make payment in Usa right?

    Beside that, I’ve tried to set up the selling location of afterpay to only USA, but everytime I click “save changes”, the selling location automatically change to “Sell to all countries”. Can you help me to solve that?

    Are you referring to your WooCommerce store currency? What is the country of registration for your Stripe account?

    Can you help me to solve that?

    We’ll get back to you on that question once we’ve reviewed the coding logic for Afterpay.

    @namnguyen2510 Regarding the sellers location, we are updating that logic in the next release.

    That will allow you to control the value for the Afterpay gateway.
