Age Gate does not function

    The Age Gate does not function—content appears without challenge. Settings are “All Content”. “JavaScript mode has been enabled by default as WP_CACHE is set to true.” Using “Admin Ajax”.

    Server side cache has been cleared multiple times (using WPEngine). Browser cache and cache-busting URL (https://zingzang.com/?_=1) does nothing. Plugin was working about a month ago but at some point stopped working after plugin upgrade or WordPress upgrade.

    Client is furious Age Gate is no longer functioning. Please help. Thank you.

    Hi @vosgiengmt,

    The Age Gate javascript file is not present on your site. It is still enqueued by the plugin so there must be something dequeuing it or it’s dependencies (jQuery doesn’t seem present either and that is currently required).

    You should check neither have been dequeued in your theme or another plugin.

    Removing a jQuery dequeuing script fixed the issue. Thank you for your quick response and help.

    @vosgiengmt – perfect!

    Just for future reference, Age Gate 3 bins jQuery as a dependency so you should be able to reinstate it once they new version drops 🙂 (hopefully soon!)
