Age Gate not coming up

Thanks for opening the new topic.

It’s looked on Safari on Mac, Firefox (Mac/Windows), Chrome (Mac/Windows), Edge on Windows 10 and IE11 as well as Safari on iOS, Chrome on a Nexus and a Galaxy S5 and all are showing me the Age Gate fine.

So a couple of things, am I looking at the right link? (https://www.natureskissmmj.com/)

Secondly, when you saw it in the customiser, did you input your age as that would then set it as passed when you visit the site?

If you clear your cookies does it show then?

I’ve looked again this morning and while I can still see the age gate I don’t see the css, do you have “Use plugin style on the front end” unchecked on the appearance tab? It possible there’s a CSS conflict making it not show – especially in the Javascript version.

I’ve installed the same theme on my test install and I’m not getting any issues so it’s a bit strange. What other plugins are installed, have you tried disabling them and seeing if that fixes it? Though I don’t think that’s an issue as I can still see it :/

Can you try the JavaScript mode in Age Gate -> Advanced just to see if that helps? It also helps me to see some of the settings.

There’s definitely something being cached, possibly on the server? If you add a query string to the URL you’ll see the age gate as this effectively disables the cache for example:

https://sex-think.com/?v=9090909

If you then pass the age gate, you’ll see it reappear, but if you change the number it’ll go again and the cookie will be set.

You’ll need to use the javascript version and make sure all caches are flushed. If it’s a server thing, depending on your host there should be an option to do that. If it’s a plugin, again you should be able to purge that in the plugin settings.

Seems to work fine for me now. I’d just check your cookies now. See if there’s one called age_gate and delete it. Or delete all the cookies, though depending on what you have saved that could be a pain.

It doesn’t look like you have remember me on, quitting the browser completely might also work.

You shouldn’t need to now. The only time really you’d need to do it now is if you change any settings. Sometimes publishing a post clears the cache, but that depends on how the cache works.
