Akismet interfering with another plugin

    I have a plugin called Email Subscribers & Newsletters and Akismet is interfering with it.

    This plugin delivers a notification to subscribers that a new post has been made. These notifications were not going out. As mentioned, I had the developer of the plugin looking into things – additionally, everything checks out with my host.

    Next up was to start disabling other plugins. Turns out Akismet is first on the list and something that was updated after or last successful blog post. Once I disabled Akismet and published a post, the notifications went out. Note we started having problems after Nov 7th.

    Not sure what else I need to do other than reporting this bit I will do what I can to help fix it. I’d like to re-enabled Akismet because I’m assuming it’s doing good.

    @n20capri:

    Akismet would only impact comments and contact form (if your contact form supports it) spam on your site. We have no impact on emails being sent on behalf of that program unless the developer has implemented part of our API in the plugin itself, which we’re not aware of.

    I’d recommend following up with the other plugin developer in the other thread to ask if they’ve integrated any of our API into their plugin. Reading that thread and how they send out emails, it’s not content Akismet would ever check normally.

    Thanks for the reply. I did post my same findings about the issue over there but havne’t heard back. I will post again with the specific questions you asked me.
