    Hi,

I am using this plugin to build a set of galleries that have descriptions with each image, that I’d like to display along with it. The only way I’ve found this possible is setting the Display galleries as a Basic ImageBrowser. This puts the image and the description I want on the page. The only problem now is that the image only displays for the first one. After that, the next text and title is there, but there is no text and the buttons are fairly unresponsive.

Is there a better way of doing what I’m trying to achieve or is it not really possible with this plugin?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @alaneye,

    1) I see that the ImageBrowser doesn’t scroll to the next image at all and that’s why you can’t see other descriptions. This looks like a problem so I hope that you wouldn’t mind checing to make sure that your site meets NextGen requirements https://www.imagely.com/docs/requirements/
    Also, please try to check for a plugin conflict by temporarily deactivating all the plugins excepting NextGen;

    2) You can achieve the thumbnails and the descriptions below with Basic Thumbnails gallery display type. You will just need to go to “Gallery -> Gallery Settings -> Basic Thumbnail” and select "NextGen Legacy: gallery-caption.php" for “Legacy (Old)Templates”

    Hi,

I’ve tried turning off the other plugins as you suggested and it seems to work. When turning on the plugins again, it seems to conflict in some way with Jetpack interestingly. Any suggestions?

It does seem though that only the > part of the button is clickable. If you hit anywhere else in the button, it doesn’t respond?

    Hi @alaneye,

Can you please try to temporarily deactivate JetPack’s modules to see which one exactly may conflict?

As for the button, that’s how it currently works, you need to click right on the <> icons
    in order to navigate.

    Hi @alaneye and @mihaiimagely,

it seems that you have to deactivate ALL Jetpack features concerning media (no carroussel, no endless scroll, no Jetpack mobile theme and no retarded loading of images (I have to guess, I’m unsing the German version). Any of these caused one or another problem with the ngg galleries.

    Cheers,

    Hi @iriskammerer

We’d like to take a closer look at this conflict with Jetpack. We may need to temporarily deactivate plugins and switch the theme while troubleshooting. Would you feel OK with that? If so, please send us a bug report here: http://www.imagely.com/report-bug, refer back to this forum thread, and let them know Gaby referred you.

Came here to ask the same thing (clicking NEXT arrows did not change image) but solved the issue by disabling Jetpack’s carousel (had already disabled lazy loading, etc).

So basically the two plugins do not play nice together.

    Hi @ohliza

We would like to add that note to an existing bug report with Jetpack
